Effect of Whole Body Vibration on Power Performance d lactate concentration in Speed Kicking of Taekwondo

The Purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of whole body vibration on power performance and muscular fatigue recovery in Taekwondo competitors. 10 male college athletes participated as subjects. Experiment program consisted of consecutive 3-times(round) of 1-minute’s speed kicking and 1-minute’s rest among round, and subjects performed that program with(experimental group) and without(control group) whole body vibration ahead of each round. The number of each round's sped kicking and serum LDH level were measured to analyze the effect of whole body vibration on power performance, and blood lactate concentration on recovery period(3, 5, 7, 10,1 5min) was measured to analyze the effect on muscular fatigue recovery Statistical technique for data analysis to determine differences between group was repeated measures ANOVA. Results were as follows; First, there was no significant differences in the number of speed kicking, but the data showed the increase of average number by 3-4 times in experimental group. Second, there was significant increase in serum LDH level in experimental group. Third, there was no significant difference in blood lactate concentration, but data showed the acceleration of removal of blood lactate in experimental group. These result suggest that whole body vibration be a useful training method to enhance power performance and muscular fatigue recovery in Taekwondo competitors.
